Path analysis has emerged as a valuable technique in educational research, offering a powerful tool for bridging theory and reality. By adopting this method, researchers can unlock new insights and advancements. However, the complexity of path analysis models and terminology can intimidate potential users. This paper provides an accessible introduction to path analysis, exploring its concepts, relevance, strengths, and limitations. It also presents a foundational framework for educational researchers to build upon, equipping them with the confidence to explore and apply path analysis in their work, and addressing a critical gap in the existing literature. Other technical and complex issues about terminology and interpretations surrounding the technique are beyond the scope of this introductory overview.
